G'day Sportsfan,
Picture this. You've just hit the drive of the day—a cracking tee shot that splits the fairway. You follow it up with a glorious iron shot, struck so purely it soars towards the flag, landing and settling just 15 feet from the hole.
You're practically buzzing. "Here we go," you think, "a putt for birdie!"
But then, a different feeling creeps in. The pressure mounts. That 15-footer suddenly feels like it means more than any other putt you'll have all day.
Your mate chimes in with that age-old advice, "Never up, never in, mate! Get it to the hole!"
So you give it a little extra. You ram it. The ball skims the edge of the cup, and as it races a good six feet past the hole, that familiar, sinking feeling hits you in the gut. You know this script because you’ve seen this movie before—a makeable birdie turns into a nervy putt just to save par. 'Don't let this happen again,' your brain screams, piling a totally new kind of pressure onto this second putt. And what happens? You steer it, you get tentative, and you walk off with a frustrating bogey, fuming.
From a golden birdie opportunity to a frustrating bogey in the space of three putts. Why does this happen over and over again?
It’s a classic case of 'Ego Golf' completely sabotaging 'Scoring Golf'. And it all stems from one of the most common—and destructive—pieces of advice in the game.
It’s a big topic, and it’s the theme of this week's video tip below. Also inside, I've got a special offer for my 9 Shots Lower Program and important updates on our beginner programs, end-of-year trip, and this Saturday's social game.
Plus, you won't want to miss our Success Stories section at the end, featuring updates on Chase Oberle's amazing journey in the US and a fantastic result from Anne Hogan.

⛳️ Tired of 'Ego Golf'? Let's Get Scoring.
That frustrating cycle of turning a potential birdie into a bogey isn't just bad luck—it's a symptom of 'Ego Golf'. It's about chasing the glory of one shot instead of focusing on the final number on your scorecard.
Breaking free from this mindset is at the very core of my coaching philosophy, and it's the foundation of my 9 Shots Lower Program. This isn't just about tweaking your swing; it's about transforming your entire approach to the game, making you a smarter, more consistent, and strategic player who knows how to score.
I currently have one spot available in the program for a golfer who is serious about leaving 'Ego Golf' behind and finally achieving their scoring potential.
Special Offer for Program Graduates: Are you a graduate of my Breaking Bad Golf Program? If you're looking for a refresher to sharpen your skills and drop even more shots, you can join the 9 Shots Lower Program and receive a $500 discount!
Refer a Friend and Get Rewarded! Know someone who would be a perfect fit? If you refer a friend who signs up, I’ll give you:
A 'Play with the Pro' experience on the house (valued at $150).

How to Stop 3-Putting: Kill Your Ego, Not Your Scorecard
As I mentioned in my welcome note, the real reason for those scorecard-killing three-putts often has nothing to do with your stroke—it's all about your mindset.
This week's video dives deep into this concept. I'll show you how to stop playing 'Ego Golf' and start playing 'Scoring Golf' by shifting your focus to what really matters on the greens.
If you're ready to master your distance control and finally understand the mental shift required to eliminate three-putts, click the link below to watch.
I am trying to grow my YouTube channel so more people can get help in my unique way. I would really appreciate three things that will take you less than 5 minutes.

Anne's result is a great example of having success while still having areas to improve. That’s what becoming your own best coach is all about, and it's exactly what we teach in the 9 Shots Lower in 9 Weeks Guaranteed Program. Well done, Anne, I'm super impressed!
It’s been a thrill following Chase Oberle as he takes on the world's best. He recently delivered a spectacular performance at the World Golf Championship at Torrey Pines, a tournament won by legends like Tiger Woods and Ernie Els.
Chase was leading after two rounds and finished in a tie for 6th place after hitting an unbelievable 35 of 36 greens in regulation over the first two days. He's since had another top-10 finish and is now preparing for a week with Cam Smith and the Ripper GC team. He is truly living the dream!
Saturday Social: Back on the Course!
It was another fantastic turnout for our Saturday Social on July 5th, with 16 players enjoying the perfect golfing conditions.
A big welcome back to Stewart and Sandra, who we haven't seen in a while! It was great to have you back, and Sandra was pleasantly surprised with how well she hit the ball despite a big break from the game. It’s amazing what low expectations can do, hey?
We also gave a warm welcome to Mark Barber for his first game with us. Mark wanted me to pass on his thanks to his playing partners for showing him such a great time. I know he’ll be back, and hopefully, he'll bring his partner Sandra along too!
We're on again for this Saturday, July 19th, and it's looking like we'll have a huge group of 20+ players, which is fantastic to see.
The very intention of this social group was to create a friendly, welcoming environment for new players to get comfortable on the course, especially graduates from my Get Into Golf programs. With my upcoming beginner programs starting this week, please let all your friends know! If they want to dip their toes into this great game for life, this is the perfect place for them to start.
